Proximus selected Inmanta the winner of its first Call for Innovation for its end-to-end orchestrator. Proximus committed to do a proof of concept (PoC) in the field of SDN / NFV using Inmanta’s orchestrator.
What is Call for Innovation?
Swisscom, Telia Company and Proximus, three leading telco providers from across Europe, jointly issued an international Call for Innovation and looked for innovators to help create greater value for their customers. More specifically, the first Call for Innovation focused on next-generation virtual telco functions and services (also called SDN / NFV 2.0). One of the areas of interest is the management and orchestration (MANO) of virtual network functions and other software components. Innovation in this field can significantly reduce the time and complexity to deploy networks and telco services.
Experts of Swisscom, Telia and Proximus selected 11 finalists out of 55 relevant applications. Each finalist pitched their solution in front of a jury in Zurich (Switzerland) on 9th December 2016.
Proximus selected Inmanta
Each of the three participating telcos selected their winner and confirmed to start a PoC project with their respective winner. Proximus selected Inmanta for its end-to-end orchestrator; Swisscom chose Metaswitch for its Cloud Native Network Evolution; and Telia selected imVision for its anomaly detection solution.
